$562 million paid to Halliburton by US to bring oil to Iraq...
The sovereignty handed over to Iraq will not actually be sovereignty, but something else. What do you call it when the appointed government can't make or change laws and there's an occupying foreign military presence? Maybe it's called sovereignty, I dunno...

JohnKerryIsADoucheBagButImVotingForHimAnyway.com John Kerry is a douchebag, but I'm voting for him anyway. Well, not really. That is to say, he's not actually a douchebag, or not nearly as much of one as what the media, George W., and even perhaps John Kerry himself have made him out to be. It seemed that every time I saw, heard, or read something about Kerry, his doucheness factor increased. It wasn't until I did just a little research on my own that it became clear that most of these occurrences could be explained as lies, deception, media excess, or simply poor campaigning strategy.

Make Peace With Pot. As Canada is supplying marijuana to patients, in the US, possession can have the same patients (or at least their American counterparts) jailed and prohibited from receiving welfare payments or food stamps; benefits which convicted murderers and rapists are still eligible for. The Bush administration asserts that "Marijuana and violence are linked". What they don't mention is that the violence comes from the government...

Sending troops to occupy and die in Iraq is using them up. So, various GOPers want to reinstate a Military Draft. But, isn't it better, if you've illegally invaded a country and are now fighting the population, to have people who want to be there doing it? Now, I'm not suggesting that any of the troops in Iraq really want to be there, but, I mean, they did enlist in the military, and Bush is in the White House, so, what did they expect?

God Made Me Do It. The trouble with religious fanatics is that, well, they're religious fanatics. They are immune to the effects of reason and perspective. They are motivated by faith, which doesn't require proof or facts. And they enjoy sacrifice and bloodshed for their beliefs, which, to the rest of us, seems as if they're lying. But, they aren't, they're just expressing they're beliefs. So, what happens when one of them takes control of the most powerful nation on earth? Recent history...

Peaceful Protest Under Attack. The US is using some obscure 19th century law to charge Greenpeace with the crimes committed by its members. If the Feds win, they could gain access to all of Greenpeace's data, which means that if you've ever donated money to them, you'll be on a government list. Also, Greenpeace could be stripped of its non-profit status. They could effectively cripple the organization that's been outspoken about Bush's environmental record.
Fury Ignites Solidarity in Iraq. The US are helping unite Iraq, just as they said they'd do. Seeing their homes destroyed, religious sites desecrated and thousands of Iraqis wounded or killed, Shiites and Sunnis are burying ancient rivalries to join forces against a common enemy: the United States Occupying Forces.

Condi Gets A Reality Check. Is it clear yet that the Bush bunch not only knew the terrorist attacks were going to happen, but that they let them happen to give themselves an excuse to rewrite a bunch of laws, stifle dissent, make they friends some cash and get the public into a fear and revenge frenzy and blame it on Iraq in big headlines that are latter recanted on page 10 in small print? That will not be the conclusion reached by the 9/11 commision. The possibility will not even be pondered.

On the anniversary of the toppling of Sadam Hussein's statue, Iraqi's celebrated by attempting to topple the statue of President Bush that was erected in its place. Bush said he's determined to continue to liberate Iraqis even if he has to kill every single last one of them.
As Fox News and to a lesser extent CNN and other corporate news services applaud Rice's performance in the 9/11 commision, it's nice to see that other news sources are noticing that there must be something wrong when a memo entitled "Bin Laden Determined to Attack Inside the United States" didn't fucking alert the White House to the possibility that Bin Laden might attack the country. The only admirable thing about Condi's testimony is that she could say that with a straight face. Or maybe not... She said it as if it was obvious that the title was too vague. And refering to "historical documents" that told of plans and attempts in the past to use aircraft as weapons..."We had no idea they'd use that method again. How're we supposed to know? Etc. etc..."

Condi Rice shifts blame. In keeping with Bush admin tendencies, Rice blamed the terrorist attacks on the CIA, FBI and every president since Reagan before Junior. There was no new information of any kind in her testimony. Kind of boring after Clarke's.

The Pope says no more watching sports on Sundays. He really did. This isn't one of those things where I exaggerate or make things up. No going to the movies either, unless it's Mad Max's The Flaying of the Christ. Catholics are now required to spend a full day in church. Sources close to the pontiff say the papal decree came as a reaction to Hellboy taking the top spot this weekend while the Passion fell to six place. Richard Lapchick, director of the Institute for Diversity and Ethics in Sport at U of Central Florida, said the Pope was out of his mind. "Sports has way more congregants than Catholicism. Sports is bigger than Jesus."

Powell admits his intelligence may have been faulty. Powell, now convinced that the material he used for his UN presentation on the imminent threat posed by Sadam Hussein was complete bullshit, is launching an independant investigation into how a high school student's world issues class homework got into his files.
No, he's not... He just said he's talked to the CIA about "how questionable information could have been passed along", a conversation that went like this: "What the hell was that?! You jerks made me look like a complete moron!"
Bush has Osama's Vote...The GOP pundits have been warning that voting Junior and his gang of marauders out of office would strengthen the terrorists' resolve, or whatever. But, isn't a president with a black and white, us v. them mentality who thinks he's doing the will of God and effectively isolates himself from the rest of the world exactly what al Quaeda wants? I mean, he's great for their recruitment ads, right? There's your evil enemy kids. Even some legitimate governments think so. And also, since Junior gets a kick out of snubbing world governments who don't see eye to eye on the subject of America's right to plunder the planet, how effective is the global coalition against terrorism going to be? The last thing al Quaeda wants is for someone who might work with other countries to fight terrorism to get into the White House.
