The teaser trailer for Fantastic Four - Rise of the Silver Surfer has a pretty cool chase scene with the Silver Surfer and the Human Torch, but Superman returns prooved that one awsome action sequence does not a good movie make...so, we'll just have to wait and see. They'd better have Galactus in it...And I mean the cheesy Marvel Universe guy, not the Ultimate Marvel swarm aliens.
I have to say that the Silver Surfer does look pretty fuckin' cool though...

Giant ice island breaks off Arctic shelf...it's theorized by some that this very thing, occuring in larger quantities in the Antarctic, is what caused the Great Deluge described in the Bible and earlier Messopotamian tablets...
So, some may think the science is still out on global warming...But reality seems to supoort the idea...

US army almost broken says Colin Powell, as rumors circulate that Junior may throw more troops at Iraq in the hope that it'll make everything better. Powell was ejected from the White House in 2005 when the administration decided it only needed one token minority member. Now, at least, he has people who will listen to him.

Also, watch Comedy Central's Freak Show, a completely absurd animated show. Where else can you see a giant mutant Princess Diana biting the heads off photographers. Good weird fun...

I've meant to mention this for some time...If you have a chance to watch Torchwood, the adult-targetted Doctor Who spin-off, do so. I wasn't sure about it at first, but recent episodes have been pretty intense. The stories have been intelligent, interesting and sometimes twisted and unpredictable. And they can say "fuck" and "shit" and have aliens obsessed with sex. It's good fun. Check it out.

Iraq and U.S. dispute raid?. US stormtroopers killed 20 Iraqis in US occupied Iraq. They say they were terrorists or militants or insurgents or whatever the enemy is today, but Iraqi officials say they were civilians, including 6 women and 5 children. "Well, they didn't greet us as liberators," said an unnamed American soldier. "What were we supposed to think? As far as we're concerned, if they don't welcome us with candy and flowers, they're fair game..."
Meanwhile, Junior is trying to figure out a way to ignore James Baker's recommendations on severe adjustments to Bush's strategy, including getting one, without appearing to be too much of a dick. "I'm seriously considering adopting some kind of strategy," said the boy president. But he wouldn't say what it would be, other than presenting the idea of training Iraqi troops as if it was new. "When they stand up, we'll sit down," he said yet again. "Until then, we'll continue to stumble along, tripping over nearly every obsticle we come across..."

The Harper's attempt to reopen a divisive issue, which works so well for his buddy, President junior, failed miserably, as MPs defeat bid to reopen same-sex marriage debate. Most MP's and normal people feel the matter was already done. The Harper was just appealing to his base of far-right Christian fanatics in attempting to beat this dead horse. Speaking of which, many fanatic organization with the word "Family" in their name have said they will never give up trying to impose their beliefs on everyone else. For instance, Charles McVety, fuhrer of the Canada Family Action Coalition said "The people of Canada want to be told what to think and believe. They want to be told that only heterosexual Christians should be allowed to marry for the purpose of reproduction, to create more Christians..."
